This weekend I decided to review Minetest and compare and contrast it with Minecraft. Both are actively developed voxel based games that offer a variety of different features and mods. Minecraft offers professional quality gameplay, audio and consistent artwork, leading to a smooth and enjoyable experience all around. Whereas Minetest's strengths lie in its community development. Initially presenting a rough unpolished experience, Minetest gives the user complete control over gameplay features. This creates a unique and customizable playstyle.
